MEET THE JURY FOR IMAGINE EVERYTHING COMPETITION

PLAYGROUNDS INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL 2026

For this brand new PIFF competition, we were looking for the short film gems that make our hearts stop with their audio-visual beauty, dazzle our minds with their artistry, push conventions and make us constantly wonder: “How on Earth did they make this?”. And the entries did not disappoint!

However, only one of them will take home an encouraging prize of € 1000,-  and be crowned the Winner of our Imagine Everything competition.

Here are the wonderful people that we are entrusting this very difficult task! Meet our Imagine Everything Competition judges: Jennny van den Broeke, Hannah Lau Walker and Loek Vugs.

With over ten years of experience within the commercial animation industry, Hannah Lau-Walker has worked at indie studios based out of peoples living rooms all the way to huge production houses in central Soho. She is the founder of She Drew That – a multi-platform community striving to find new ways to develop women’s skills and talents and help in combating the gender inequality found within the animation industry. She has been a host at several Playgrounds events including In Motion London and The Art Department Eindhoven and a co-curator of the PIFF 2025 Saucy Selection.

Jenny van den Broeke is a researcher within the Situated Art, Design and Technology research group, and a tutor on the Photography, Film & the Digital study programme at St. Joost school of Art & Design in Breda. In her own practice she works as a trainer, director, and producer of artistic projects that address social topics. In 2025 she co-founded Studio APVIS. The directors of this Breda- and Amsterdam-based film collective aim to push the boundaries of film and to seek out crossover collaborations. Jenny was part of the 2016 – 2017 generation of Next Talents.

Loek Vugs is a designer, animator, part-time animation teacher from the Netherlands and former Next Talent. In his work he likes exploring minimal designs and patterns while often keeping a tactile, hand drawn feel.
