Sylvain Marc is a French production designer, illustrator and animation director based in London, with more than fifteen years of experience in the animation industry. He has enchanted audiences worldwide with his designs for films like Pixar’s Luca, The Mitchells vs the Machines, Hotel Transylvania 2&3 as well as The Boxtrolls. Back in 2020 we were lucky enough to have him on our virtual stage and we’re now super excited to get to meet him in person during The Art Department Eindhoven!
His practice ranges from art direction and visual development to character design, direction, 2D/3D animation, storyboard, illustration, and comics.
Currently a visdev and story artist at Netflix, he has worked with studios such as Pixar, Laika, BlueSky, Sony Pictures Animation, Locksmith, Cartoon Network, Nickelodeon, Framestore, Psyop, Passion Pictures and Hornet, to name a few.
Aside from his commercial work, Sylvain has also very exciting personal projects. His rich, detailed and very illustrative aesthetic is beautifully showcased in his production Popeye.
Sylvain has also worked as a comics artist for projects such as Neufundland, Spirou and Au Cochonnet.
