In 2023 a group of students at the Belgian school Digital Arts and Entertainment banded together to create an animated short film called ‘Giant of the Steppe’. The team – Arnout Zeghari, Mari Gallet, Roy Terium, Finn de Brie, Katharina Alexander and Theoni Fotoglou – spent 4 months of their senior year creating the film, which won a Flemish Technology and Innovation Award and was featured on the Next Stage at The Art Department 2024.
Currently, a year later, the now-alumni are continuing the project with the hopes of making the short a feature film reality. During the Art Department, the team will talk about the making of the film, all the struggles that came with it, and what is next to come for the great loveable Giant.
