A senior concept artist and art director for Ubisoft Entertainment having collaborated for projects like Assassin’s Creed: Origins and Odyssey, Cristian Chihaia likes to engage in anything tackling his creative side whether it being digital painting, 3D sculpting, graphic design, illustration and even branding and identity.
Like with many of the artists activating in the art department field, Cristian Chihaia’s work path took many turns before becoming the one he has always dreamt of. Before getting into concept art and art director he worked as a graphic designer and brand developer, organized art events and eventually landed a position in the management and concept art departments of Texas-based indie game developer NAO Studios.
Upon returning to Bucharest, he started working as a matte painter and art director for PRO TV, one of the biggest television studios in Romania. Almost three years later Chihaia decided to become a freelance illustrator and concept artists regularly collaborating with AMC Pixel Factory, Paizo Publishing and Ubisoft.
Glad he is sharing his insight in our panel about the state of the industry in Eastern Europe!
