Like with many of the artists activating in the art department field, Cristian Chihaia’s work path took many turns before becoming the one he has always dreamt of. After graduating from the University of Architecture and Urbanism in Bucharest, he first worked as a graphic designer and brand developer for a small advertising studio. Aside to this job, he launched his own company organizing art events, collaborating with sponsors and setting up development plans for young and upcoming artists.
This eventually helped him land a position in the management and concept art departments of Texas-based indie game developer NAO Studios. Upon returning to Bucharest, he started working as a matte painter and art director for PRO TV, one of the biggest television studios in Romania. Almost three years later Chihaia decided to become a freelance illustrator and concept artists regularly collaborating with AMC Pixel Factory, Paizo Publishing and Ubisoft.
