It is safe to say that digital art amplified what was possible in concept art and opened the doors to an entirely different workflow and pipeline. In this panel we are discussing the past and future of digital art with Dermot Power, Rob Bliss and other artists.
Dermot Power is a renowned concept artist and illustrator with a career spanning decades in the film industry. After starting his artistic journey as a comic book artist on the legendary 2000 AD series, Power transitioned to the world of film, where his creative vision has left an indelible mark. He for instance worked on several Star Wars and Harry Potter films, and created many concept art for Tim Burton’s work.
The Harry Potter franchise, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, Guardians of the Galaxy 3, The Dark Knight, The Last of Us, The House of Dragon, Maleficent, Divergent, Alien: Convenant, all made use of the amazing artistry of concept artist Rob Bliss.
The discussion is going to be moderated by longtime Playgrounds friend, creative consultant, art book designer and publisher Spiridon Giannakis. He has been working in print media since 2006. Starting in 2017 he has helped artists, like Even Mehl Amundsen, Abigail Larson, Bjorn Hurri, Bastien Deharme, and many more, to publish their art books managing their crowdfunding campaigns.
