
Founded in 2004, Prime Render Studios is a Croatian-based animation studio which has built a formidable reputation for their wide range of specialisms from 2D to 3D graphics and virtual reality for computer games, TV, commercials, print and film. They’ve made waves in recent years with their festival-nominated short films, and visually inventive music videos like for AJR’s Maybe Man. Clients have included FoxTV, CNBC, UNILEVER, AGRIUM, William grant & sons, FKC london, BICRO agency, Financial Times, to name a few.
We’re thrilled to be joined by the studio’s co-founder Milivoj Popovic and director and animator Bozo Balov. Together, they’ll dive into the Bozo’s artistic workflows as well as giving audiences a peek behind the scenes of the award-winning VR short film Dislocation.






Milivoj Popovic is a producer and director of animation based in Split, Croatia where he’s overseen the production of a slew of animated short films which have gone on to receive over 75 international awards. He’s currently in production with Meta, a short animated film he’s co-producing and co-directing alongside Bozo Balov & Veljko Popovic.
Next to his work as a director and producer, Milivoj is also a lecturer at Academy of Fine Arts in Split, creator of online courses for UDEMY and ArtStation and a regular speaker at conferences around the world. His work has led to collaborations with Netflix, CBS, Showtime, Universal, and many more.
Božo Balov is a animator and CG generalist working between commercial and artistic projects at Prime Render Studios. He’s known for his inventive approach to 3D animation, often combining various techniques and digital mediums. Some notable highlights include is award-winning VR film Dislocation and his art direction for the music video AJR – Maybe Man. He’s collaborated with industry leaders such as Nvidia Studios and is currently co- directing and art directing the animated short film META.
