Anna Mantzaris is a Swedish director and artist with an instantly recognizable style of tactile and fuzzy stop-motion animation. She blends humor and melancholy effortlessly, with intricately crafted scenes and delicate, nuanced performances from her characters.
She worked on Wes Anderson’s Isle of Dogs and, more recently, created Fuzzy Feelings for Apple, one of the most stand-out Christmas Adverts of 2023. We are utterly delighted to welcome her on our Klokgebouw stage for a chance to sink in her exciting process!
Anna has an MA in Animation at the Royal College of Art. She is also occasionally teaching and has been a guest lecturer at Royal College of Art, Stockholm University of the Arts, and National Film & Television School among others.
Her film for Global Women – A Career Limiting Move carried a difficult message with a light touch, winning awards and featuring in festivals worldwide. She has directed films for John Lewis, Greenpeace and Honest Tea, among others.
Anna’s personal short films Enough and Good Intentions have won over 50 international awards together including a European Animation Award, Vimeo Best of the Year, Walt Disney Award and Audience Award at Ottawa International Animation Festival.
