Tom C J Brown is a British artist and filmmaker, primarily known for his short films t.o.m., teeth, Cousin John – The Arrival (2020), and Christopher at Sea which have collectively won over 50 awards at festivals around the world including Sundance, SXSW, Outfest, Annecy, and AFI Fest. Last year he dazzled us with an exciting artist talk during In Motion Rotterdam so this year we simply had to invite him to meet our London audience as well!
Brown spent 11 years in New York working at Psyop in animation and film, before returning to the UK to take up residence in the Peak District. Now working with his sister and producer, Emily-Jane Brown, at their boutique production company Temple Carrington & Brown.
Here they produce films, create commercial content for clients (Biden Harris 2020, Peloton x David Bowie, Adult Swim), and collaborations with artists like Casey Spooner and Rachel Rose. Brown’s enthusiastic amateur harping, rambling of English peaks, and love of opera all feed into his work as a modern-day romanticist.
