In the distant future, Evey Hammond is an average citizen of the United Kingdom, which is under the rule of the fascist and tyrannical Norsefire Party. She is an employee of the state-run British Television Network, but soon, she becomes the number one enemy of the state together with an enigmatic and larger-than-life freedom fighter known only by the letter “V”. A bond soon forms between the two.

20 years after the premiere of V for Vendetta we are revisiting this iconic movie starring Hugo Weaving (The Matrix, The Lord of the Rings) and Natalie Portman (Black Swan, Closer). The film marked the directorial debut of James McTeigue (The Raven, Ninja Assassin) and remains one of his most successful films to date. The script was signed by Lilly and Lana Wachowski, also known for their work for The Matrix franchise.

On 19 March we are delighted to welcome as a special guest for this screening: one the film’s concept artists – Dermot Power (Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, Ready Player One). He will share with us some insights regarding working on the film, as well as his take about how the movie holds two decades later.
