LET'S PLAY

PLAYGROUNDS INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL

NL | 4 min 42 | animation

In a village consumed by adult responsibilities, a child yearns for play and fun. However, unintentionally, his innocent play sparks a war within the village, escalating from simple playfulness to destructive conflict.

Director Marzieh Rasekh is a 2D animator based in the Netherlands. She embarked on her animation journey during her Masters in Iran after completing her bachelor’s in Graphic Design. She also graduated a Masters of Animation program at MIVC Avans. Driven by a passion for both stop motion and 2D animation, Marzieh aims to seamlessly blend traditional styles with the digital realm. Her diverse experience includes working as an animator for book publications and board game companies, primarily focusing on commercials for social media platforms. Despite her commercial endeavours, Marzieh has successfully produced two short animations, More (2018) and Let’s Play (2024), both of which have garnered nominations and selections at various festivals.

The film Let’s Play will be featured in the Student Film Competition. The selection highlights not only amazing student films created by artists enrolled at Dutch universities, but also works that challenge and innovate in terms of audio-visual storytelling.
