Set in a rapidly changing world, Snow Bear tells the story of a polar bear in an unforgiving environment on his quest to find a friend.
This 2D hand drawn film was painstakingly created entirely by Aaron Blaise over 3 years. With Aaron’s lifelong dedication to studying, drawing, and animating animals, the adventure is infused with humor, relatability, and emotional depth in the tradition of classic animated films. The film has the support of Polar Bears International and The National Parks Conservation Association. It has been included in the official selection for British Animation Film Festival, Animation Dingle and Flickerfest International Film Festival.
We are very excited to host the Dutch premiere of Snow Bear during Playgrounds International Film Festival‘s Opening Night, in the presence and with an introduction from Aaron Blaise himself.
During his 21-year tenure at Walt Disney Animation, Aaron Blaise left an indelible mark on the hearts of audiences worldwide through his work animating characters from films like Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, The Lion King, Pocahontas, and Mulan. He also directed Brother Bear a film that went on to pick up an Oscar Nomination in the Best Animated Feature category.
