When Lot suddenly loses her sight, her world comes to a standstill. In Ik zal zien, she initially escapes into a realm of dreams, where fantasies and fears intertwine, clouding her thoughts. However, as she gradually accepts her new reality, Lot begins to reclaim control over her life. This poignant film explores the transformative power of self-acceptance and resilience, inviting viewers to reflect on the delicate balance between imagination and reality. Discover a journey of inner strength and renewal in Ik zal zien—a powerful narrative that redefines perception and the human spirit.

Directed by Mercedes Stalenhoef. Produced by Labyrint Film in coproduction with NTR and supported by key industry funds, Ik zal zien features standout performances by Aiko Beemsterboer, Minne Koole, and Roman Derwig. Discover this heartfelt exploration of loss, resilience, and acceptance.

Mercedes Stalenhoef will join us for a Q&A after the screening. For almost twenty years, her films have showcased her interest in social involvement. Such was the case with her films I Never Want to be Famous (2005; International Film Festival Amsterdam) and My Big Brother. The latter premiered at the Movies that Matter Festival and won the Movies that Matter Award.
