Mikey Please is a BAFTA award winning animation director and writer, based in London. A guest to our Playgrounds 2012 festival and also to a Playgrounds TV in-depth interview, he dazzled us with his artistry and insights into his projects. Given the fantastic public’s reaction to the sharing of his creative process, we’ve decided to enjoy some of his magic also in real-life, bringing him on our The Art Department Berlin stage! Aaaaand, as an extra cherry-on-top, in Eindhoven his works will be included in our expo, giving us a chance to take a closer look at some of his fabulous creations!
Mikey Please is known for his works like: Elliott from Earth, Alan the Infinite, Zero Greg, Marilyn Myller and The Eagleman Stag among others. He recently co-directed a 30 minute Christmas Special at Aardman Animations for Netflix with his long time collaborator and bestest pal Dan Ojari.
Over the years they have created a whole range of works, from shorts to comic books as well as developing long form narrative projects. A big fan of works that feel organic and stories that are relatable with, Mikey’s projects capture the hearts and minds of audiences and critics alike. We can’t wait to dive more into his inspiring creativity!
