JULIA POTT

In Motion Rotterdam 2023

Summer Camp Island creator Julia Pott is an award-winning British animator living in Los Angeles. Her films have screened at festivals worldwide including Sundance, TIFF, Annecy and SXSW. Julia’s  idiosyncratic signature is one-of-a-kind and we’re over the moon to have her on our stage this year!

Previously a writer on Adventure Time, Julia Pott went on to create the GLAAD and Emmy nominated series Summer Camp Island. This animated children’s TV series follows best friends Oscar and Hedgehog who spend their summer days having strange encounters with magical creatures. The show ran for 6 seasons on HBO Max.

Julia’s work tends to explore the motivations behind human relationships, representing characters as mildly ridiculous anthropomorphic animals. Her powerful storylines witnessed in films such as The Event and Belly tend to leave a mesmerizing impression on the audience.

So looking forward to catch up with some of Julia’s most recent works!
