CD Projekt RED is an award-winning creator of story-driven role-playing games. Established in 2002, they are headquartered in Warsaw with teams in Cracow and Wrocław — as well as Boston and Vancouver. As a global video game development company, it develops and publishes video games for PCs and video game consoles. The studio’s flagship titles include the futuristic RPG Cyberpunk 2077, its spy-thriller expansion Phantom Liberty, and The Witcher series of games, including The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and its two expansions. In collaboration with Studio Trigger, CD Projekt RED also created the award-winning Netflix anime series Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, set in the same universe as the game. Other games developed by the studio include Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales and GWENT: The Witcher Card Game.
During Game Week we’re thrilled to announce that we’ll be joined by CD Projekt RED’s Ania Bulavina. She is a senior environment artist currently working on Polaris—the first instalment of the new Witcher saga being developed by CD Projekt RED. She previously worked on Phantom Liberty, the critically acclaimed expansion for Cyberpunk 2077. Ania has been a game developer for 10 years; before joining CD Projekt Red, she worked on Shatterline (Frag Lab, 2022), The Sinking City (Frogwares, 2019), and created environment concept art for Sherlock Holmes: The Devil’s Daughter (Frogwares, 2016). This talk dives into Ania’s creative process, highlighting the challenges the team faced when creating the Space Force One crash site location, and how they balanced gameplay, story, and art.
