Over this two-day workshop, Even will focus on one thing, and one thing only: your process. From concept to final render, we all navigate the creative process differently. Rather than giving you all a particular set of steps for everyone to follow, Even wants to look at some other overarching principles that speak to character design in general instead and derive from them some easy-to-remember guidelines that can help your characters come to life, while still being fundamentally yours.
What do you need to participate? Something to draw with: preferably the same kind of medium you use day-to-day, a good pinch of curiosity, half an ounce of patience and a cup of eagerness to learn.
Norwegian illustrator and concept artist, Even Mehl Amundsen, is widely recognized for his fantasy based character designs and monsters. A familiar face to our The Art Department audience (the physical events, the online ones, the hybrid edition, you name it!) he is much loved for his energizing talks, hands-on tips and very relatable design strategies.
