We welcome a new editor for our Playgrounds Eye Candy series: CG and concept artist Stijn Windig. With his first artist pick, Stijn takes us in the uncharted territories of Chenthooran Nambiarooran‘s artistry.
Stijn: “Years ago, I encountered Chenthooran’s art on the “Super speedpainting funtimes” group on Facebook, and I was immediately fascinated by the utter weirdness of his work. On ArtStation, he describes his skills as “taming subconscious projections’, which is apt, since his work seems to stem from a dark and very trippy place.
His identity is shrouded in mystery as well; I have not been able to find out where he lives and works. His ArtStation profile says Grand High Doodler. His Deviantart account states that he lives in London, but that could be old info. His latest posts are 2 years old.
I like to imagine that some big company scooped him up and put him in charge of a secret IP that will blow our minds when it is announced. A mix between Dark Souls and Psychonauts…”
