In an ever-changing media landscape, constantly moving and dynamic, Playgrounds is also always In Motion. Even more so when chasing the newest creative trends, mind-boggling artists, ambitious innovative projects and unearthed inspiration emerged from digital arts in all shapes and forms.
In 2023 we wanted to explore more, discover more, enjoy new spaces and connect with new audiences. New adventures. New spaces that capture and ooze exactly what we are aiming for. That is: Playgrounds In Motion. A traveling festival, focusing on different themes in every new location.
The first In Motion festival brought us to the heart of European animation and media production: London. art the beginning of September 2023 we brought our Playgrounds magic to the UK and hosted the first edition of In Motion in the amazing Outernet District in London. There, In Motion focussed on animation & motion design, showcasing the latest developments in this genre and, of course, some industry legends in this field.
Following the British adventure, in October 2023 we set up camp in the incredible Maassilo in Rotterdam. Playgrounds brought a catwalk of all liquid, trending and new visual culture, in one of the most forward looking and constantly reinventing itself cities in the Netherlands!
Last In Motion pit stop in 2023 happened in Breda during Game Week. In November 2023 Playgrounds hosted and In Motion special – a conference about the art of game. Together with Breda Game City, Dynasty, BUAS, Avans Creative Innovation, St. Joost School for Art & Design, the city of Breda, we deep-dived into the art of world building and design for games.
