In an ever-changing media landscape, constantly moving and dynamic, Playgrounds is also always In Motion. Even more so when chasing the newest creative trends, mind-boggling artists, ambitious innovative projects and unearthed inspiration emerged from digital arts in all shapes and forms.

This year we wanted to explore more, discover more, enjoy new spaces and connect with new audiences. New adventures. New spaces that capture and ooze exactly what we are aiming for. That is: Playgrounds In Motion. A travelling festival, focusing on different themes in every new location.

The first In Motion festival will bring us to the heart of European animation and media production. We’re headed to London, baby. Yes UK, we come your way and we’ll bring the Playgrounds magic with us! We hope to see you on 8+9 September in the amazing Outernet District in London. In Motion London will focus on animation & motion design and will showcase the latest developments in this genre and of course some industry legends in this field.

And  we’ll set up camp in the incredible Maassilo in Rotterdam one month later on 5+6 October. A catwalk of all liquid, trending and new visual culture. One of the most forward looking and constantly reinventing itself cities in the Netherlands!

For our friends and visitors wondering about our former BLEND festival. We felt it needed a new angle, so we welcome In Motion instead of BLEND. But not to worry, expect In Motion Rotterdam to ooze post-digital storytelling, cutting-edge creativity, fluid media, cross-genre projects, innovative works and artists as you are used too! We changed the name not our topics.
