Nils Slijkerman is one of the two developers behind the game SCHiM. With a background in Communication and Multimedia Design from NHL, Nils started his career freelancing and teaching game design at Friesland College, where he met collaborator Rando Wiltschek. Together, they founded the indie studio Extra Nice in 2015, working on various client projects and experimental games. Nils, along with Ewoud van der Werf, spent 4.5 years developing SCHiM, a highly anticipated indie game showcasing their creative vision.
SCHiM is a shadow-jumping action-adventure game centered around a creature trying to reunite with its human counterpart. Set in a stylised urban environment, players navigate the world by leaping between shadows, solving puzzles, and interacting with the environment. The game’s unique shadow mechanic adds a fresh dimension to exploration and storytelling. Developed by Extra Nice, SCHiM blends intuitive gameplay with a striking art style, creating an immersive experience. It offers both depth and simplicity, appealing to a wide range of players.
We’re excited to welcome Nils Slijkerman on stage to give us a behind-the-scenes look at the making of SCHiM on November 21st!
