EXPO PASSING BY

by Job, Joris en Marieke

The collective Job, Joris & Marieke are known for their independent animation films. Job Roggeveen, Joris Oprins and Marieke Blaauw met each other at the Design Academy in Eindhoven. Nowadays they run a studio (founded in 2007) for animation, illustration, character design and music. They create shorts films, music video and commissioned work. Their films are characterized by tragicomic and absurd stories with a lot of clumsy characters. Their short film A Single Life (2015) was nominated for an Oscar.

Job, Joris and Marieke are no strangers to Playgrounds and talked about their work at several editions. At The Art Deparment we show a selection of the exhibition PASSING BY that is an overview expo. On display are giclee and silkscreen prints of the characters they created for their films, illustrations they made for their books, making of material of their latest film A DOUBLE LIFE, stills of the short flilm Passing by and 3D prints of animation loops of the latest music album of Happy Camper.
