Fatemeh Haghnejad, also known as Bluebirdy, is a painter, character designer as well as illustrator for books. She alternates traditional paintings with digital art, often portraying dreamy characters. She is currently working on the book Fairies, for French publisher Albin Michel.
Fatemeh picked up the brush from a young age. The Iranian, artist based in Oslo, was inspired by her family to tell stories through art. It was mainly her mother that taught Fatemeh everything about art and design. Later on she decided to study art and design in school.
Fatemeh says her inspiration mostly comes from personal life experiences. Books, animations, feelings, all those aspects can be the start of a new design. Aside from personal experiences, Fatemeh is also influenced by the Norwegian nature and surroundings.
