A brand new Playgrounds Eye Candy tip from our editor Romee van der Schoot. Check out the fabulous artistry of illustrator and painter Jackson Joyce.
Romee: “The work of this artist always catches my eye when it comes across my screen on Instagram. I almost instantly like every post I see of his. I guess that tells you a lot about how much I adore his artistry.
To me, Jackson Joyce’s work has the right balance between color, shapes, light and authentic character design. The way he sets the mood through light, shadow and color choices mesmerizes me. He plays with composition, shapes and proportions in a child, fantasy world kind of like way. But it stays minimalistic and clean. Even though there’s a lot of color, he still makes it feel serious in a way. He uses interesting metaphors which take
you to another little world telling you an intriguing story.”
