Two days full of tips & tricks, inspiring master classes, special film screenings and meeting & networking opportunities. Natlab, BROET, Playgrounds, Kunstloc/KONKAV, DOCWERK and Van Osch Films join forces for the first edition of the new Industry Days for film professionals, in Eindhoven!

On Friday 20 and Saturday 21 May, we will focus on fact, fiction and storytelling in film. We explore the blurring boundaries between different film genres and disciplines, reflect on the ethical actions of filmmakers and investigate hybrid storytelling forms. Which developments influence the film landscape and the way filmmakers tell stories today?

The organising partners will develop a great, deliciously diverse programme that is interesting for a broad group of film and av-makers, students from art schools and other professionals.

The program is in Dutch.

Some high lights of the program:

Telling Stories will be opened by a keynote speech by Helmut Boeijen (film glutton extraordinaire and lecturer in video journalism at the Fontys Hogeschool Journalistiek). In his keynote he shines his light on the Telling Stories theme and the contemporary developments in the film landscape.

Playgrounds director Leon van Rooij will talk to Nienke Huitenga about crossmedial story telling and the impact campagi she did for the multidisciplinary project Shadow Game (winner Gouden Kalf Documentary). Leon will also talk to former Next talent Justus van den Elsen about his new documentary Zonder Grenzen that also leaded to develop a theater play about this subject with Het Zuidelijk Toneel.

How do you tell journalistic facts in a new, narrative way? Joost van Wijk (programme maker KRO-NCRV) and Ellen Imhof (script editor and dramaturge KRO-NCRV) tell, using examples from De Villamoord, how they managed to successfully incorporate dramaturgy and storytelling in a journalistic documentary.

The exact program and time table can be found here.
