Tina Nawrocki is a 2D animator and character designer. She has been in the industry since 2006 and her expertise spans from video games, to films and television. We can’t wait for Tina to join TAD23 to share her knowledge and process with us!
Tina joined Studio MDHR in 2015 to work on the videogame ‘Cuphead’ as a concept artist and 2D animator. She designed and animated the bosses for Sugarland Shimmy and various platforming stages. After Cuphead’s release, Tina worked for two years on Studio MDHR’s new project DLC: Delicious Last Course, animating the boss fight Doggone Dogfight.
Since leaving MDHR in 2020, Tina had the pleasure of animating on the Netflix series “Green Eggs and Ham” and the feature film “Space Jam: A New Legacy” as well as providing original animations for Drake’s music video “Knife Talk”. She’s currently working on several exciting 2d animated games, including a fantasy platform by the studio Petty Karma.
At The Art Department, Tina will share her near obsessive love for the art of 2D animation walk cycle. The talk will touch on her own experience with character walks, throughout the various mediums that she had the honour to work on. Further, it will explore incredible walk inspirations of the past, as well as famous animators’ approach to creating great character walks.
Finally, she will break down her own personal approach, step by step, in creating an interesting and meaningful character walk. Audience members will hopefully “walk away” with a greater appreciation of the storytelling opportunities that can be encompassed in something as simple as the way a character struts across screen!
Aside of her talk, you can also catch Tina signing illustrations in the Art Market.
