MORAG MYERSCOUGH

a new Eye Candy tip from editor Iris van den Akker putting female creators in the spotlight

Keeping her tradition of putting in spotlight remarkable works created by women artists, editor Iris van den Akker brings forward this time the stunning creations of artist and designer Morag Myerscough.

Iris: “I’ve recently discovered the work of Morag Myerscough through the brilliant podcast of Creative Boom, where she was interviewed about her projects. In the podcast, they mentioned her home, which was on sale and apparently got a lot of attention. I looked it up and haven’t stopped looking at her work since.

Myerscough is a designer from London who works with bold, vibrant colours and usually makes very large, site specific work. Her work really pops off your screen.”

“Her mantra is ‘make happy those who are near and those who are far will come’ and she loves to create around the theme of belonging. Community is very important to her.

I love artists and designers who’s work make me really happy and her story was very inspiring. Give her work a look!”

Born and bred, Holloway London, Morag has always lived in the city and has been fascinated colour pattern and words can change urban environments and peoples perceptions of spaces into places.
