Next Academy: master talk by screenwriter Amira Duynhouwer (Dutch spoken)

Amira is born in Kenya and raised in Deventer. From a young age, Amira was determined. She wanted to become a writer no matter what it would take. When she started writing screenplays, she soon noticed her feeling for directing which became a natural follow-up in her love for storytelling.

Amira directed her own films Kimya, Beti and Save It. She’s currently working on her debut film straight from her kitchen table at Heesterveld. Other projects she’s got herself involved in the past couple of years were writers’rooms behind Dutch series like Mocromaffia, Nood, Hockeyvaders, Sihame and the still in process Nemesis. Amira’s biggest goal in life? Becoming the next Paul Thomas Anderson, or Francis Ford Coppola.

Filmmaker Loes Janssen will interview Amira about her journey. Get inspired by Amira her experience and writing skills during this master talk. Don’t hesitate to ask questions! We’ll end the afternoon with some drinks, first one is on the house!
