Next-talent Jelle van Meerendonk and fellow artist Paulina Zybinska have created a new project for GLOW Eindhoven 2019: Elemental Fusion.
Elemental Fusion is all about the battle between the primary colors.
The winners of the Foederer Talent Award GLOW 2018 now created a light artwork on the main route of GLOW 2019. The artists Jelle van Meerendonk and Paulina Zybinska were inspired the colorful, stained glass windows of the Steentjeskerk.
The windows appear dull and not detailed from the outside, but when the sun shines and the composition comes fully into its own, they reveal their natural beauty. The Steentjeskerk makes this contrast even stronger: with its modest interior, the stained glass windows of Joep Nicolas give the impression that they are the crucial piece that transforms the building into a holy place.
Elemental Fusion is all about the battle between the primary colors. Caught in the tower, they fight with each other for who is most important. With their frenzy they set the building in motion, creating a sweetrope-like effect. Ultimately, they realize that only through cooperation can they create the colors that shape our environment.
