Thomas van Lisdonk is a Dutch film director, creative and producer. With a passion for making fiction and commercials, he is known for his unique storytelling and ambitious, bold approach. Driven by his passion for creating impactful and atmospheric narratives.
He is also the founder of the story-driven production company LisdonkFilms since 2021.
Thomas’s creative style is rooted in telling stories that keep people on the edge of their seats, stories that move them, but above all, entertain them. It has to feel raw and real, something people can instantly connect with on an emotional level.
Thomas thinks that cinema comes to life when a film isn’t just watched, but truly experienced. Everything he creates should feel like it belongs on the big screen, as if it lives and breathes there. He aims for his work to fully immerse people in an experience, a world they can get lost in and that stays imprinted on their minds.
Thomas is passionate about creating compelling drama. He is especially drawn to personal stories that feel familiar and intimate, but he is equally fascinated by true hero narratives, stories with a strong plot, layered characters, and a powerful twist that lingers long after the film’s end.
When he first watched Back to the Future, he knew he wanted to be a filmmaker in order to create films like that, stories with heart, strong drama, and a sense of humor. Directors like Spielberg and Ridley Scott have been a huge inspiration to him for the way they craft compelling, immersive stories that carry you along so effortlessly.
