Paula Socías Villanueva is an animator and motion designer with a background in graphic design. She loves creating loops and playing around with shapes.
In her work she enjoys experimenting with mixed media and finding how to communicate things in a simple way.

One of the main characteristics of her creative style is simplicity. She likes to search for how to best showcase or communicate things in a simple way. This approach gives her the opportunity to work a lot with visual metaphors in the search of representing things differently, which is something that she truly enjoys. She also aims to find unique outcomes through experimenting with textures, using different analog and/or digital processes.
One of the subjects that always draws her attention is how humans feel and express themselves as well as how they react in different situations. Her works often focus on various social problems such as the housing crisis in different big cities in Europe, how tourism affects the traditions and cultures of those places and climate change.
Her inspiration often comes from the content she consumes, such as movies, books, documentaries, or series. Paula also finds inspiration in conversations with friends and family and the things we are dealing with, like emotions, feelings, and experiences. As well as things from everyday life, shapes, objects, and movements.
Paula Socías Villanueva brings an international voice to our Dutch selection. Very original and with a deep understanding of the thoughts and ideas she wants to communicate, she will undoubtedly bring fresh perspectives in the Next Talent Program 2026-2027 generation.
