Joyce den Hertog is a creative technologist, light designer, and artist with a curiosity for the intersection between technology and traditional arts such as dance, poetry, and theatre. With a MSc in Media Technology, she has published on text-to-motion AI generating dance movements from poetic input.
She works with motion capture, lights, visuals, sensors, AI and mixed media to explore themes of fragility, time, and what it means to be human in an AI-driven world. She has participated in residencies across Europe and Japan and enjoys collaborating with others to integrate new technologies into performance art and live shows.

Joyce enjoys working with many different technologies, from sensors, digital media to robots and AI. She is also fascinated by observing and creating projects involving moving and performing bodies.
Another point of interest is the way light can completely influence an atmosphere and convey emotions without words.
During her Next XR trajectory she wants to explore stories of her past, and recreate those worlds in 3D, using technologies like VR, Gaussian Splats and AI.
