JOMANE AL MANSOURY

next talent 2026 - 2027

Jomane Al Mansoury (a.k.a Josoury) is a director, animator, (amateur) puppeteer and handcraft artist with a strong background in the fine arts. Working across stop-motion and mixed-media animation he loves a great mix of horror and whimsy. Handcrafted art is something she cares about very much and she wants to keep this craft alive.

Jomane views her creative style as a cosy dollhouse with hidden monsters. She likes to tell stories with a hidden risk.  Her biggest inspirations come from films/videos, theatre and games, such as The Midnight Walk (Moonhood Studios), Don’t hug me I’m Scared (Becky & Joe) and Alice (Jan Švankmajer)

Jomane loves to make stories with handmade objects, creating new life out of something. She likes to approach topics dealing with absurdism and existentialism. Infused with some humour as well. Yet somehow her stories always turn out also a little bit creepy. That contrast between a cute, goofy puppet and a rather heavy topic always seems to be something she looks for.

Jomane has collaborated with renowned platforms and festivals including Playgrounds, BUT Film Festival, and Submarine. With experience spanning the full production pipeline from concept development to final animation. Jomane’s work is rooted primarily in handmade craft and animation, with a deep understanding of both creative vision and practical execution.

Versatility and craft are among her strongest assets but so are her unique voice and the way she infuses social themes into her works. During the Next Talent Program 2026-2027 she will undoubtedly take us on some very thought-provoking journeys.
