GENEVIEVE GAUCKLER

playgrounds 2013 | ARTIST TALK

Genevieve Gauckler is a French artist, illustrator and art director best known for her ever-evolving procession of loveable characters and technicolour digital mashes.

Her works are bright, fun and hectic. Starting with French record label F Communications (Laurent Garnier, St Germain), she went on to work with directors Kuntzel & Deygas on promos for Dimitri from Paris, Pierre Henry and the Sparks, as well as commercials (e.g. Yves Saint Laurent’s Live Jazz), titles for French/German cultural TV-channel Arte, and short movies. When asked about her formative influences, she cites an early childhood fascination with the colourful packaging on her favourite breakfast cereal and the title sequence of her favorite TV series, Flipper. Her next projects include creating an experimental video with Pleix, and working on her next comic book.
