We’re thrilled to welcome Dutch illustrator Xaviera Altena to The Art Department this year. Xaviera has developed a style that encompasses bold line work, poppy colors and sparse details. She references modern day issues and news stories in her work, combining them with 90s pop culture influences for a fresh approach to topical illustrations. Throughout her work we see pieces that tackle themes such as feminism, social movements, politics and the everyday.
Xaviera’s personal interests include pop culture, cultural history and the world of comics and print. Her illustration work has found its way into advertising campaigns, magazines, murals, clothing and products for clients from all over the world.
