Loek Vugs is a designer, animator and teacher from the Netherlands. His work revolves around playful experiments, minimal designs and visual systems. He often aims to put as much lively motion into as few lines as possible
Within his work there is always a big curiosity for how shapes can form a pattern or how alterations can be made from one small visual element. “I don’t always see myself as a true animator I just like to design stuff and often I design stuff with movement. Animations just happen to be a really nice way for expressing my ideas.”
In the past Loek has made the opening titles for Playgrounds In Motion, he created illustrations and animations for several brands and he has recently made a new personal short film. Next to this he also teaches at the Master of Animation in The Netherlands.
