Synopsis:

Suburban teenager Sarah is forced to baby-sit her baby brother and, in her frustration, wishes that the infant would be taken away. When this wish is unexpectedly granted by the magical Goblin King, Sarah is given only 13 hours to solve the dangerous and wonderful labyrinth which leads to Goblin Castle and rescue her brother. Left with no choice, she sets out on a dangerous adventure in a land where nothing is what it seems.

Enjoy this film with intro by artist and illustrator Iris Compiet who has created the artwork for the book: Labyrinth Bestiary,  A Definitive Guide to the Creatures of the Goblin King’s Realm. Iris will share some insights in her work and her passion for the film.

Iris Compiet is a traditional artist and Illustrator from the Netherlands. She is the illustrator of The Dark Crystal Bestiary, winner of the 2020 Jack Gaughan Award for Best Emerging Artist, and a 2020 nominee for the Chesley Award for Best Gaming Related Illustration. 
She is the illustrator of The Star Wars Bestiary vol1, The Labyrinth Bestiary, and winner of the 2021 Chesley Award for Best Interior Art for The Dark Crystal.

Iris’s work has appeared in numerous publications including Spectrum, Infected by Art, ImagineFX, and 3D Total. Some of her other clients include Wizards of the Coast and Netflix, and her art has appeared in publications and gallery shows around the world. In her work Faeries of the Faultlines, Iris guides readers through a world of fantastical creatures from beyond the veil.

Iris will be sharing her personal connection with the movie and some of the people responsible for this iconic cult phenomenon. How this movie shaped her as a young artist and led to choosing her path into the world of fantasy. Resulting in now being a small part of it’s history with the Labyrinth Bestiary. She’ll also be showing some sketches from the bestiary and perhaps spoil us with more surprises!
