Founded in 2007 and based in Utrecht, Job, Joris & Marieke studio has slowly but very steadily engaged in the mission of conquering as many as different formats as possible while enchanting audiences worldwide. We have had the pleasure to have them on our stage several times and we’re excited that they are back again for an artist talk.
Job Roggeveen, Joris Oprins and Marieke Blaauw met during their study at the Design Academy in Eindhoven. Although none of them studied animation, Job doing graphic design and Joris and Marieke: product design, they discovered a common passion for telling stories. So animation turned out to be the best medium for them, being the perfect combination of storytelling and designing.
And with stunning results which led to a nomination for an Oscar for A Single Life, and a nomination for an Emmy for Kop Op. And this year you can really dive into the world of Job, Joris and Marieke since they have created an amazing solo exhibition at Kunsthal Rotterdam. Especially for the exhibition they made a new work, called Nobody, that guides you through the expo. They will tell you all about their latest projects at The Art Department Eindhoven!
