You know us! With every festival we try to push ourselves just a bit further, striving with each edition for a more immersive and complete experience for our visitors. This year makes no exception. We are very excited to present you our brand new Playgrounds app that will help you navigate The Art Department Berlin.
For our new visitors (and maybe even for our dedicated ones that might not be keeping track of what each of our platforms can do for them) here’s a recap of all ways we encourage you to interact with our program and us:
The Playgrounds App
- You will be able to very easily check out our timetable, select your favorites and make your own schedule
- You will be able to create your own profile, select your interest and directly reach out to other festival visitors sharing the same interests. You will be able to also mark if you are open for work and we will invite attending studios and companies to mention if they are actively recruiting.
- You will have maps of the location making it very easy to navigate our venue
- You’ll receive notifications about last minute changes in the schedule or important updates.
Discord
- best way to connect with community (both the online and the physically present at the fest one); in #travel-buddies thread we already have people setting up meetings during the fest
- the official platform for asking questions to the speakers on stage via the #stage-questions thread
- if you’re still looking for a ticket or can no longer make it to our fest, the #ticket-swap thread is the place where you can try to buy/sell it
- the platform to share with us your artworks. Who knows, we might even pick and showcase them during our festivals?
- lots of fun activities such as the Treasure Hunt during The Art Department Berlin
- the way to keep in touch with us and our community all year long!

Survey
- When all is set and done we’ll send all festival attendees a survey. Your inputs really help us out grow and develop! For example the app, the portfolio reviews time schedules are improvements we decided to make based on feedback from our visitors. So do take 5 mins of your time and fill it out so that we can keep on improving your experience!
