To celebrate 20 years of Blinkink, founder Bart Yates will be digging into the archives to celebrate some of the hidden gems that were fundamental to their development as a studio.

Behind the familiar, high-profile projects, some of their most defining moments were in fact the obscure passion projects, the lo-fi music videos and experimental films where they took a chance on new talent and pioneered innovative techniques.

This is a journey through some of Bart’s all time faves and a peek behind the curtain to discover how the magic happened, and how these projects shaped Blink’s evolution into the creative powerhouse that they are today.

Bart Yates is the founder & executive producer of Blinkink, a London-based studio that specialises in innovative mixed-media filmmaking and animation. They bring unusual stories to life in innovative ways across TV, commercials, music videos, and video games.

Born and bred in Brisbane, Australia, Bart started his career in the mailroom of Warner Music, spending 4 years in the music industry before moving to London in 1999. He joined an advertising agency and there started his path into production. In 2002, he joined Blink Productions and in 2005 founded their dedicated animation division Blinkink. He co-founded Blink industries, their long-form entertainment arm in 2012.

Over the last 20 years he has been instrumental in shaping the talent, culture and capabilities of the studio, helping them evolve inot the creative powerhouse that they are today. Blink’s output spans original TV series for Netflix, Disney, HBO and Channel 4, alongside commercials for brands including Nike, Prada, John Lewis, Arsenal, and BBC, as well as music videos for Iron Maiden, Dua Lipa, Coldplay, Gorillaz and Elton John.

Along the way, they collected BAFTAs, Emmys, a Cannes Lions Grand Prix, D&AD Yellow Pencils, and an Oscar nomination.
