We joined forces with the amazing archives of the Netherlands Institute for Sound and Vision (Beeld en Geluid). We call all artists to create a new work with images and video’s from www.openbeelden.nl. The best three new pieces will be rewarded with a prize of €500. The best 10 will be screened during the exclusive hybrid edition of The Art Department 2020. Mash it up, mix it up – tell your story with archival materials.
Terms of the contest
– Deadline of application: Tuesday 29 September 23.59 (CEST)
– Theme: journey
– Anything goes: animation, fiction, documentary, experimental
– Length: max 1 minute
– Specs: 1920×1080 // .mp4 // frame rate: max of 30fps (but can be less) // bitrate max 5000kbps (but can be less)
– Use the archive: you can use any image in www.openbeelden.nl NOTE: please check the license if you can use the images without credits or not.
– Let the world know you are joining this call: share an image of your new work through your socials and tag Playgrounds and Sound and Vision (e.g. their Instagram)
– Send your new work together with you email, telephone number and socials to paulien@weareplaygrounds.nl
– A jury of artists, director Leon van Rooij of Playgrounds and Juliette Jansen of Sound and Vision will judge the new works.
– The best 10 will be screened during The Art Department 2020 and the best 3 will win €500! We’ll only contact the artists selected for the screening and the winners of the prize.
