Tijdens de buitenexpo Illustrada zie je metershoge illustraties en kunst door heel Tilburg.
Maar wie maken deze illustraties en hoe komt dit werk tot stand? Tijdens deze avond gaan we in gesprek met de Bredase maker Cheyenne Goudswaard en de Tilburgse illustrator Jill Peeters.

Cheyenne Goudswaard is een Bredase illustrator en animatiefilmer. Haar aandacht wordt getrokken door het vuil in de hoek en de buurman die niemand wil – het onopgemerkte en onbegrepene. Ze wil voorbij de voordeur gluren om te ontdekken wat er in de achtertuin verborgen ligt. Haar fascinatie voor menselijk gedrag, hoe we ons leven vormgeven en hoe we ons verhouden tot de wereld uit zich in zachte, intieme en relateerbare illustraties en animaties. Ze studeerde in 2023 af met een Master in Animatie aan MIVC St. Joost School of Art and Design.
Datzelfde jaar won ze de Animation Talent Award, gesponsord door de Keep an Eye Foundation. Haar korte film ‘Ik Ben Hier’ wordt internationaal vertoond op filmfestivals. Ze won de Best Animated Film Award op het Sehsüchte Film Festival met Ik Ben Hier. In 2024 werd Cheyenne geselecteerd voor het Playgrounds Next Talent Program om haar toekomstige projecten verder te ontwikkelen.
Jill Peeters is gevestigd in Tilburg en werkt als achtergrond- en visdev artiest voor internationale studio’s als Submarine, Il Luster en The Film Kitchen.
Ze houdt erg van het bouwen van fantastische werelden en deze tot leven brengen met kleur en compositie. Haar werk is geïnspireerd door de ervaringen en emotionele banden die ze deelt met mensen in haar leven. Ze werkte aan animatiefilms als Benjamin Bat en Vos en Haas redden het bos.

During the outdoor exhibition Illustrada, you will see metre-high illustrations and art throughout Tilburg.
But who creates these illustrations and how does this work come about? During this evening, we will talk to Breda-based illustrator Cheyenne Goudswaard and Tilburg-based illustrator Jill Peeters.

Cheyenne Goudswaard is a Dutch illustrator and animation filmmaker. Her focus is drawn to the dirt in the corner and the neighbour that no one wants – the unnoticed and misunderstood. She wants to peek beyond the front door to discover what is hidden in the backyard. Her fascination with human behaviour, how we shape our lives and how we relate to the world is expressed into soft, intimate and relatable illustrations and animations. She graduated with a Master degree in Animation from MIVC St. Joost School of Art and Design in 2023.
That same year, she won the Animation Talent Award, sponsored by the Keep an Eye Foundation. Her short film ‘Ik Ben Hier’ (I Am Here) is being screened at film festivals internationally. She won the Best Animated Film Award at Sehsüchte Film Festival with I Am Here. In 2024, Cheyenne was selected for Playgrounds Next Talent Program to further develop her future projects.
Jill Peeters is based in Tilburg and works as a background and visdev artist for international studios like Submarine, Il Luster and The Film Kitchen.
She is really into building fantastical worlds and bringing them to life with color and composition. Her work is inspired by the experiences and emotional bonds she shares with people in her life. She worked on feature animation films like Benjamin Bat and Fox and Hare Save the Forest.
