HAZAL ERTURKAN

XR maker

Hazal Ertürkan is a researcher and multidisciplinary designer. She completed her BSc in design at METU, where she became captivated by the profound impact of design on shaping and transforming people’s emotions, behaviours, habits, and, ultimately, their daily life practices.

This fascination motivated her pursuit of an MSc in Interaction Design at TU Delft. During her master’s studies, she further delved into the intricacies of emotions within micro-interactions, poetic design, and storytelling.

Hazal’s work is driven by a high responsibility to nature and ‘more than human’. She aims to push the boundaries of our current realities and captivate audiences to transport them to new worlds to imagine and contemplate alternative ways of living that promote diversity, equity, and inclusion. XR promises boundless possibilities for immersive storytelling, interactive experiences, and transformative technologies.

She sees XR as a powerful tool to make the unseen seen for social impact and positive change and utilise XR to make radical futures visible and experienceable to raise awareness and understanding of different perspectives, promote empathy, and ultimately foster meaningful connections, drive meaningful societal transformations and transform how we engage with nature and technology.
