EDDY WU

animation filmmaker

Cheng Tse (Eddy) Wu  is a Taiwanese 3D artist and animation filmmaker living in the Netherlands. His work gently uncovers untold, deeply personal stories that resonate with universal emotions.

At the heart of his creations lies a deep exploration of memory, identity, vulnerability, and emotional connections, conveyed through soft, poetic imagery that invites reflection and fosters shared understanding.

Eddy aims to create space for collective sharing through animation. His creative process is like taking small stones out of pockets—releasing the hidden burdens, emotions, and memories that slow us down, allowing us to walk lighter and further.

Through intimate and tender storytelling, he weaves a delicate web of connection between souls, giving voice to the silent emotions often left unheard, inviting others to lighten their steps and walk together, fostering a shared understanding that transcends perspectives.

In 2024, Eddy graduated with a Master’s degree in Animation from MIVC St. Joost School of Art and Design. That same year, he was grateful to receive the Animation Talent Award from the Keep an Eye Foundation, which supports the development of his next short film. In 2025, his short film Immature was honored with a Special Mention at the Kaboom Animation Festival and was also part of the Student Competition of the first edition of Playgrounds International Film Festival. These experiences have reinforced Eddy’s focus on creating meaningful short films that explore personal and emotional storytelling.

Eddy has proudly been selected to take part in the Next Talent Program of 2025. We can’t wait to find out more about his journey!
