BIG FISH

PLAYGROUNDS INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL 2026

USA |2003 | 2h 3′ | live action, feature

Synopsis:
When Edward Bloom becomes ill, his son, William, travels to be with him. William has a strained relationship with Edward because his father has always told exaggerated stories about his life, and William thinks he’s never really told the truth. Even on his deathbed, Edward recounts fantastical anecdotes. When William, who is a journalist, starts to investigate his father’s tales, he begins to understand the man and his penchant for storytelling.

Enjoy Big Fishwith intro by Eindhoven based stylist & art-director Anne van Lieshout. After working as a dancer, model and actress life moved Anne to work behind the scenes instead of being in front of the camera. She started working as a fashion stylist about 15 years ago. First only in photography and fashion, later also in tv commercials, short movies and feature films as a costume designer.
She started her career self-taught, but after a few years “working in the field” she pursued an education at Academy Artemis in Amsterdam where she graduated in 2015.
She worked for clients like: Cowboysbelt, Mitsubishi, Campina, Domino’s pizza, Wibra, Delta, Jeans Centre, Bebeconfort, NHA, and many more.

Anne will share some insights into her work and her passion for this Tim Burton film.
