It’s hard not to get swept away by the work of Danish illustrator and character designer Pernille Ørum. Her characteristic designs speak to many and we’re over the moon to announce that she’ll enter our Art Department stage in Eindhoven.
Pernille has worked with companies such as Hasbro, Nickelodeon Jr, Mattel, DreamWorks, Disney Publishing, and Penguin Goldenbooks, and she was the lead character design on Warner Brothers DC Superhero Girls and Barbie – The Great Horse Chase. In 2019, Pernille debuted as a comic books artist with Mark Miller’s HitGirl.
In her talk, Pernille will share how she got her start, how her work caught the attention of studios abroad, and what it’s like navigating cross-border creative collaborations. Through personal stories and selected projects, Pernille offers insight into building a sustainable creative career.
