Olov Burman is a Swedish director and animator specializing in his own brand of boundary-pushing and experimental cartoon character animation. Olov started as a stop motion animator before venturing into 3D, while still maintaining the handmade feeling from 2D and stop motion in his animations. These days, Olov works completely remotely, collaborating with a network of artists and studios around the world. Burman Studio works for clients and brands like Cartoon Network, SpongeBob, Tenacious D, Samsung, Disney and others.
Olov’s talk will cover his journey in the animation industry, highlighting key lessons learned along the way. It will discuss his experience working remotely with a network of collaborators, the evolution of his visual style, and his interest in exploring movement through characters while pushing the boundaries of animation.
