In April, we’ll be joined by animation director and educator Alex Grigg. Alex fell in love with filmmaking during his time at animation school in Brisbane. After graduating he worked with studios such as Nexus, BUCK, Blink Ink, Passion Pictures and Mighty Nice. He made his first personal film in 2014 and since then he’s been working primarily as an animation director, creating work for clients such as Cartoon Network, Apple, Samsung and Procreate.
Alex’s work is filled with craft, wit and charm. He loves drawing, exploring weird ideas and ruminating on hard to explain feelings. These all bubble up in strange and unexpected ways as he tries to capture them within his personal work. We can’t wait to see and hear about this in person during his talk at The Art Department Eindhoven 2026.
