Dit filmprogramma voor vo- en mbo-scholen neemt jouw klas mee achter de schermen van de Nederlandse filmwereld. Ontwikkeld in samenwerking met filmmaker Pien van Grinsven en Natlab, wordt de kunst en het vakmanschap van filmmaken in de schijnwerpers gezet.
This film program for secondary and vocational schools takes your class behind the scenes of the Dutch film world. Developed in collaboration with filmmaker Pien van Grinsven and Natlab, it highlights the art and craftsmanship of filmmaking.
Deelnemers ontdekken de veelzijdigheid van filmproductie en maken kennis met beroepen die vaak onzichtbaar blijven, zoals decorbouwers, propmakers en set dressers, vakmensen die met hun handen verhalen tot leven wekken. Ze leren hoe set design, decor en props niet zomaar aankleding zijn, maar krachtige visuele tools die sfeer en betekenis geven aan een film. Daarnaast verkennen ze de rijke diversiteit van Nederlandse korte films, en hoe elk van deze films op een unieke manier een verhaal vertelt.
Aan de hand van vier korte films van Nederlandse makers ontdekken leerlingen hoe een met de hand gebouwde wereld essentieel is voor de sfeer, beleving én het verhaal van een film.
Een jonge professionele filmmaker neemt de leerlingen mee in het creatieve proces en vertelt over de dagelijkse praktijk van het filmvak. We starten met de videoclip Paradis ou Enfer, een visueel project van Pien van Grinsven en Salomé Genès, gemaakt voor rapper Nicay. Vervolgens bekijken we drie andere door Pien zorgvuldig geselecteerde korte films: een documentaire, een fictiefilm en een stop-motion animatie.
Kortom: een inspirerend programma dat film inzet als middel voor loopbaanoriëntatie, visuele geletterdheid én storytelling. Doe mee, en geef jouw leerlingen of studenten een frisse blik op film!

Participants discover the versatility of film production and learn about professions that often remain invisible, such as set builders, prop makers, and set dressers. These craftspeople bring stories to life with their hands and skills. They learn that set design, decor, and props are not just decorative elements but powerful visual tools that give atmosphere and meaning to a film. In addition, they explore the rich diversity of Dutch short films and how each of these films tells a unique story.
Through four short films by Dutch filmmakers, students discover how a hand-built world is essential to the atmosphere, experience, and story of a film.
A young professional filmmaker guides the students through the creative process and discusses the daily practices of film professions. We begin with the music video “Paradis ou Enfer,” a visual project by Pien van Grinsven and Salomé Genès, created for rapper Nicay. We then oversee three other short films selected by Pien: a documentary, a fiction film, and a stop-motion animation.
