Zlatelina Tsokova is a freelance animator and illustrator, originally from Bulgaria, but based in the Netherlands. She holds a Bachelor of Design in Illustration and Animation from Minerva Art Academy in Groningen and recently graduated from St. Joost School of Art and Design with Master’s degree in Animation.
Zlatelina’s graduation film Tech Check – a short animated thriller about anxiety spiralling out of control and escalating into an apocalypse – was selected for the Student Competition of the first edition of Playgrounds International Film Festival.
Driven by a passion for exploring diverse visual styles and bizarre concepts, Zlatelina draws inspiration from punk, horror, anime, and philosophy.
At the heart of her work is a deep dive into the human experience, with particular focus on how the mind’s descent into chaos can alter our perception of reality.
Zlatelina has proudly been selected to take part in the Next Talent Program of 2025. We can’t wait to find out more about her journey!
