During The Art Department we’ll make sure to be feasting your eyes and minds with the most exciting artistic experiences, but what about your taste buds? Well, this year, thanks to our amazing neighbours and friends at Keukenconfessies, you can enjoy a unique culinary experience. On Wednesday 19 March and Friday 21 March you are cordially invited to discover how The Art Department translates in food form.
Best thing is you don’t need a TAD ticket in order to attend, the dinners are open to everybody. So feel free to invite also your non-TAD-attending friends along!
Keukenconfessies offers both companies and individuals the opportunity to organise a wide variety of activities and events. From dinners and drinks to weddings. Everything is possible. Since 2002 Keukenconfessies has been housed on the fourth floor of the Klokgebouw in one of the former Philips factories on the Strijp-S site (right next to our office!). What was once a machine workshop is now the stage for an entirely new and contemporary function. However, in the large atmospheric kitchen and an immense adjacent space, the industrial character is still tangible.
Chef Maarten Lockefeer works with the creative team on innovative, food-related projects to create the ideal experiences. For these dinners they invited Federico Rizzo, an Italian (food)designer and storyteller. Federico will serve you the dishes in a exclusive, theatrical setting. And you should know the same menu is also provided to our guest TAD speakers!
Federico Rizzo is a designer and researcher based in Eindhoven who recently graduated from the MA program at the Design Academy, after which he opened his own studio Salicornia, choosing to stay in the city. Through research into more-than-human philosophy, food-chain hierarchies and supply economy, Federico and his studio Salicornia, takes food to critically understand and reshape our relationship with consumption.
During the diner you can expect a variety of mainly plant-based dishes. Think warm seaman’s bread and little lakes with seaweed pesto. Steamed vegetables and wild picked herbs. Nice homemade drinks with and without alcohol. And something sweet with a nice coffee or tea.
Make sure that you are able to make your entrance in the first hour of this diner, in order to be able to participate!
